Jerusalem, the Holy City, has effectively banned sex. No, not the act but the three-letter word that appears elsewhere in billboard advertising for the new film “Sex and the City.” Sex in the city became an issue when the advertising company Maximedia told the news media that it would not post billboards featuring Sarah Jessica Parker, above, one of the stars, in deference to requests from city officials concerned about “offending public sensitivities” by mentioning “sex.” Read more at the NY Times.
A photograph of Christchurch Mayor Bob Parker presenting a young woman with a sex toy has been removed from a website. Parker briefly attended a second anniversary party for website Slynkey.com, which features a “sealed section” for reviews of dildos, bondage cuffs and erotic fiction, and presented a large pink vibrator as a prize to one of the guests. The picture was pulled from the website yesterday, but Parker said he had nothing to do with the disappearance of the image. Read more at Sutff.co.nz.
